Hello. I have been a bass player for 32 years and I am insanely passionate about bass and bass gear. Like you, I was often frustrated by not being able to find products that I wanted to try out and I was not able to find the strings, books and other accessories that I was often looking for and if I did, there were no knowledgeable people to help me with my needs. I opened Bass Emporium in Austin, Texas after 20 years music retail experience in "full-line" music stores. I not only sell bass products through the storefront in Austin, Texas, but also over the web and by telephone. I have a repair shop in the store and I also provide lessons by qualified teachers. Now, we finally have our own place in the Central United States! Please come by and visit us and try out our exciting products. Let us know how we can better serve you and what products you would like to see in the store. You can always contact us by telephone, email, web or in person. If you do not see what you are looking for, please let me know and remember to call us last when you get ready to purchase - I will bend over backward to match prices from anyone/anywhere. Also, check back often to see what is happening in the store with both new and used products and with clinics! Thanks! John Files
Music is my world and bass is my hometown. Twenty years' experience as a musician (both on the stage and in the studio) has taught me the importance of balance. As a bassist, I must find my space in the rhythm while establishing my voice in the melody. To neglect either would mean disaster (or, at least, a lame groove). In the world of musical instrument retail, the challenge is to provide equal parts great selection and great customer service. I know that to neglect either of these would also mean disaster (or, at least, a lame shopping experience). At Bass Emporium, I'm glad I have the chance to create something as a retailer that I've never found as a customer: a nice balance. In other words, a store that grooves. Thanks! Chuck Brown
I've been playing bass for twenty years. For the past ten years, I was fortunate enough to record albums and tour throughout the world as the bassist for a successful rock group based in Austin, Texas. The experience gained during that time has been essential to my continual growth as a bass player. Now I'm spending a lot more time at home in Austin and that has enabled me to join the Bass Emporium staff. I'm honored and thrilled to be working with these talented and knowledgeable members of the bass community. I look forward to meeting you and utilizing my knowledge and experience to help you find the best bass gear for your needs. Joshua Zarbo
