Fulltone was founded in 1991 by Michael Fuller, a Session Guitarist, Composer, Performer, Electronic Tinkerer featured in Guitar Player Magazine and winning first place in their "Ultimate Guitarist Competition" Blues category. Fulltone pedals were born out of a love for Jimi Hendrix, fine vintage pedals and Fuller's frustration at the inconsistencies and the often fragile nature of old gear. Fuller has his hands on every pedal built at Fulltone, and they don't sell it if its not just right! Fulltone's effects carry a 5 year Warranty and are built for and by musicians.

True Bypass… what’s the big deal?

Fulltone uses True Bypass switching (with L.E.D. status indicators) in all our pedals. Whoo cares? You should, because most pedals have a buffered output that DESTROYS the performance of most pedals that follow in the signal-chain. Don't be fooled by the misleading claims of "Pure Bypass," "Hard Bypass"...etc. These are just catch phrases to divert your attention away from the fact that those pedals sound crappy when they're off. We manufacture the Fulltone 3PDT , the world's only Super-Duty Triple Pole Double Throw footswitch offering the most transparent bypassed tone you can get, period.

OK, so now I get the whole deal about True Bypass. But I still don't understand why Fulltone pedals cost more than Brand X!

All Fulltone pedals are 100% handmade by us at our shop in Southern California. using full-sized top-notch components. In the Choralflange, for example, there are NO miniature surface mount chips and we're using polypropylene WIMA capacitors in the audio path at many times the cost of the ones everyone else uses. You might not know or care about components, but you'll certainly hear the FAT, Clean, Warm results. And I practice the same philosophy on all my other pedals. Overkill? Maybe. But this is something you'll keep the rest of your playing days. It's actually amazing that we offer our pedals at comparable prices to other brands that you THINK are Boo-teek. 99% of all pedals out there are Made in China or God-knows-where.

So please don't ask me "Why is it so expensive?" If you don't understand after playing and looking inside a Fulltone pedal, then you should buy the other stuff.
