Roscoe builds 4, 5, 6 and 7 string electric bass guitars entirely by hand and entirely in our own factory. Unlike many builders of fine handmade instruments, none of our manufacturing is sent out. Even our fine high-gloss and hand rubbed oil finishes are applied by us. Raw lumber comes in and finished instruments go out.

Roscoe Basses are available in two body sizes. The LG model is a small hand-carved body offered for 4, 5, and 6 string basses. The SKB model is a larger hand-carved body for 5, 6, and 7 string basses. We are also offering Century Bass available in 5 and 6 string models.

Roscoe guitars are made with book matched top woods laminated over a quality body wood for that famous Roscoe tone. You may choose from a wide range of woods and finishes. Super high-quality transparent finishes applied right in our shop by our skilled craftsmen.

Top Wood Selections; Figured Maple, Flamed Maple, Quilted Maple, Cocobola, Burl Maple, Burl Myrtle, Burl Myrtle Body, Birdseye Maple, Exhibition Grade Quilted Maple, Exhibition Grade Flamed Maple, Exhibition Grade Figured Maple

Body Woods; Mahogany for a full and fat sound, Swamp Ash for better attack and edge, Spanish Cedar for lighter weight and a more acoustical sound. Your choice of body wood impacts the sound of your bass. We are always happy to talk with you about your wood selection.

Fretted Fingerboard Selections: Rosewood (Pao Ferro), Maple, Spalted Purple Heart, Ebony, Birdseye Maple, Birdseye Diamondwood

Fretless Fingerboard Selections: Fretless models use Diamondwood or Ebony (lined or ulined). Diamondwood offers a perfect playing surface and is made from thin veneers of birch impregnated with phenolic resin and bonded with intense pressure and heat. Diamondwood is colored red, emerald green, aqua, blue or black (the most popular color.)

Each fretted Roscoe bass includes a custom mother of pearl inlay at the 12th fret. One of a kind inlay work is available. Fretless basses have no inlay.
