Here is a quick update on the what has been happening at Bass Emporium!
We have added the Millennia Music & Media TD-1 Half-Rack Twin Topology Class A Preamplifier as an extremely high-end option for either recording or as a preamplifier for your bass rig. The TD-1 is a compact yet sophisticated analog "channel strip" for microphones, electric guitars and basses, acoustic instrument transducers, keyboards, DAWs, and all MIDI systems. The TD-1 "Twin Direct" includes Millennia's acclaimed HV-3 microphone preamplifier, making the TD-1 an uncompromised front-end for virtually any audio recording application. Some have called TD-1 a Mini-Origin. This preamp sounds wonderful live and incredibly articulate and open when used to record to tape (or disc!). Use this front-end with your current power amplifier or match this to one of the new Bergantino IP series powered cabinets for the ultimate live experience. The Avalon Desing U5 has long been a standard for the Direct Boxes and front end sections for bassists. The Avalon U5 high-voltage DI-preamp combines a unique passive tone selector with a variable gain preamp and filter. The high input impedance accepts a wide variety of signal levels and instruments from acoustic guitars to high-output active bass guitars and keyboards. The U5 direct box is loaded with sonic character and user features professionals demand. These units should be in stock in a few weeks. Rob Elrick has long been working on a string design that reflects the quality and attention to detail that his fine instruments employ. Well, they're finally done (and almost here). The new Elrick strings are constructed using the highest grade steel wound over a hex core. All sets are fully wound with either Nickel-Plated wrap for the Nickel sets and a Stainless wrap on the Stainless sets. The 5-string sets feature tapered B strings to aid proper intonation. We are now using and stocking the Evidence Audio cables. These are truly wonderful sounding cables that have a very tight low-end, detailed midrange with no "blurring" or "smearing" present, lots of "air" in the top-end and an extremely wide sound-stage. The Evidence cables are built using "7N" copper, Multiple Small Solid Core Conductors to maintain the sense of "air", Symmetrical Design by using identical conductors for positive and negative signal paths, Foamed Polyethylene insulating Material, Low-Inductance/High-Capacitance winding Geometry, High-Density pure copper braid shielding, Wonder Solder(TM) (TRT(TM)) Solder and Neutrik Plugs. Sadowsky Amplfiiers! Roger Sadowsky has recently unveiled his new all vacuum-tube amplifier and this will be available to us shortly. This 200W all tube-behemoth uses 6 EL34 tubes to produce some of the punchiest, warmest sounds you may have ever heard. These are being hand-built in limited runs so give us a call before you come by to make sure that we have one of these available. It's been a long wait for these puppies, but the eagle is about to land. We should have all of the new Ashdown Effects pedals on display and available around the April 1st. The Hšfner 50th Anniversary Bass is cool enough to have been worth the wait! This bass is modeled after the 500/1 Cavern bass, but with a few differences. This bass has a solid Maple Back, Fully Carved single-piece top, slimmer neck and comes with a shaped tweed hardshell case. Only 50 of these will be available in the USA and we have two of these coming (both with very low serial numbers).
